About
You’ve stumbled upon the SOUNDS LIKE A MOVEMENT blog, a place where we discuss the concept of community and the adventure of “loving thy neighbor.”
A while ago, a few of us “church people” got together and asked “What if the first step to loving your neighbor wasn’t to invite them church, what if the first step was actually getting to know them?”
What if we began leaning into the things that naturally bring people together like Music, Meals, and Mission and created more space in our lives to share these things with others?
We began opening up our houses, inviting people we met during the day to share their creativity with others; frequenting our local pubs and coffee shops where good food and drink naturally collects people under a common love; and discovering the needs of our city, coming up with creative ways to serve it and bring others into the journey.
We realize we didn’t build a rocket ship or anything. We know this is simple stuff…But maybe that’s the point, to move away from the busy, the structured, the complicated…and move towards the simple, the natural, the close.
To us, it sort of sounds like a movement
